fotos

Hi everybody! I hope you had a great time at our wedding. We had a blast and kept the party going all through the next week on our honeymoon.

If you are interested, our photographer, Phil Holland, has uploaded a lot of his images onto his website. We encourage you to buy a few shots, there's a couple good ones of pretty much everyone and they really look great. Have a look:

We did it!

We did it!

Well it was a full day of craziness, but we got through it and it was really, really fun! Actually, in the end I was surprised at how smooth it did go. We all followed the priest’s instructions pretty well I think and I didn’t embarrass myself too much up on the stage. I think most people’s favorite parts of the wedding ceremony were when Amy had to sit on her father’s lap, when I struggled to balance myself while placing Amy’s toe on the flowers that were lining out “path” around the fire, and the dropping of the sheet followed by our racing to throw rice on each other’s heads. I can tell you time moves a little strangely up on that stage. At times it felt like the ceremony was going on for a long time and at others I was marveling at how quickly we were moving along. We are so happy that we did it, though. It was a fantastic experience!

Quick recap of our honeymoon to come.

Mere days away now!

We're down to the home stretch! Amy and I have both taken off work, so we can be with our parents as we finalize as much as we can before Friday. We're getting a (somewhat) final count on the guests, arranging the rest of the rentals, and trying to stay organized (and sane). Here is the rough outline of what's going to happen on Friday:

Ceremony will start at 4:30. Try to be a little early if possible.
After ceremony, guests will be encouraged to move upstairs to the roof deck for cocktail hour
Once the food is all set up and ready to go, guests will find their seat assignments
Dinner will be served, buffet style.
After dinner, we'll tackle the cake cutting, any and all speeches and then start dancin'!

Location for all the festivities:

450 W. 31st St.
between Dyer Ave. and 10th Ave.
Top floor

Amy's bachelorette doings

She took like ten photos total I guess. Total shutterbug. Here are a few from her party in New York:

Here are some pictures of her friends Kim and Lauren in New Orleans. That glass is a shot of absinthe. She claims she didn't see the green fairy that night.

Invitations in the mail

Everyone should be getting these invitations in the mail soon if they haven't gotten them yet. We took quite a long time getting them just right and I hope everyone likes them. Please send back the RSVPs as soon as you can, so we can make our table arrangements.

Also, we've had a couple questions about where we're registered. You can check out Macy's or Target, either in-store or online.

My bachelor weekend

I just wanted to put up a short post basically as an excuse to publish some photos from my bachelor weekend in the Bay Area. My friend David, hosted six of us (Nancy, Kerri, Chris, Paul, Nick and Me) and did a great job of it. We stayed in Berkeley and made a trip to Big Sur in a big soccer-mom minivan. It rained nonstop in Big Sur, but we made the most of it, thanks to matching yellow slickers and a little teamwork. I had a great time and hope my crew had a blast as well. Here are some pictures:

After an exhausting search we finally got our caterer!

Hey hey!

We got our caterer finally. We're going with Cafe Spice. For you New Yorkers, it's on University, near NYU. You may have been there before. Alok, from the restaurant, has been extremely helpful and generous with his time. His prices have been competitive and most importantly, the food was excellent. Mom found him and has also contracted him to cater the pre-wedding Mehendhi party as well. The Mehendhi will be delicious Mediterranean food (pita, hummus, baba ghanouj, gyro, shawarma, etc) and the wedding will be mostly Indian food (samosas, biryani, aloo gobi, hyderabadi chicken, etc). We did two separate tastings and everything was great. Pati agrees as well. So come hungry!
